Request #19-729
  Closed

I would like to request copies of the following for the demolition of the Desire Community Housing Corporation (DCHC) building located on the corner of Desire St. and Industry St.:

  1. Advertisement for Bidding (RFP) and all addendums, questions/answers and related documents included with the RFP.
  2. Physical address provided to the bidders of the property to be demolished.
  3. Responses to the RFP (i.e. the bids), the bid tabulation and awarded bidder
  4. A copy of the contract for the work
  5. Any subsequent documentation that the awarded bidder had to provide the City for final payment and as part of the contract

According to the City of New Orleans Property Viewer the address is 2711 Desire St. However, the building and parking appear to have been on multiple lots of record with different addresses associated to each. We are currently designing the new DCHC building and will use these documents to properly evaluate the existing conditions and account for required demolition scope of work.

02/15/2019 (was 02/06/2019). Mr. Husser: The Office of Code Enforcement is compiling records regarding the demolition of the property. Please note that according to the Office of Code Enforcement, the property was demolished because the City deemed it in imminent danger of collapse. The City did not issue an RFP to demolish the property. Thank you for your continued patience. City Attorney's Office City of New Orleans
